Discovering the Keys to Success
A native of Boston, Solano began working at age 12 and early in life discovered the importance of mentors and networking. He realized that the keys to personal and financial success are associations with older people who are financially and personally successful. The idea is to listen to these role models. Apply what you learn. Always keep your mind open to the new. Establish clear goals and follow through. These basic tenets are the guiding principles of his successful, dynamic career, financial independence and a rich satisfying life.
Solano chose Bentley College for his formal education, receiving his Bachelor’s Degree, Magna Cum Laude, in Accounting and Finance and a Master’s in Taxation Degree from this institution. He is deeply appreciative of professors who introduced him to the stock market, investments and how to achieve financial independence during his college years. After graduation Solano became a Certified Public Accountant.
He first worked for Arthur Anderson & Co. and then joined the Internal Revenue Service. His experience includes periods as a supervisory IRS agent, a member of the U.S .Treasury International Strike Force, and a Chapter 11 Federal Bankruptcy Trustee.
Continuing Education and Resources for Professionals
Drawing on his experience in the business world and government services, Solano decided to expand his horizons. In 1998 he founded and still chairs the thriving Foundation for Continuing Education, a nonprofit organization created to promote professional development and training opportunities for corporate executives. Thousands of professionals have benefited from its seminars on taxes, estate planning, real estate appraisal, negotiation strategies and more. The Foundation is also a publisher of books, manuals and software on topics such as tax, legal, accounting, financial planning – all available through the nationally recognized Resource Library.
